“The Making of Art”: Book Design

The Making of Art is a book about the essential materials of art: canvas, wood, metal, and stone. Inspired by the Bauhaus, it explores how artists shape these materials into paintings and sculptures, focusing on the relationship between material, form, and artistic process.

The Challenge: Turning raw, physical materials into a book that lets readers almost feel canvas, wood, metal, and stone, and understand how each one shapes the art made from it.
My Role: I created the book entirely myself, from concept and research to writing, photography, illustration, and design.
The Approach: In the spirit of the Bauhaus: clear structure, strong typography, and a direct, honest presentation of each material, so the form of the book reflects its content.
The Result: A cohesive editorial piece where text, image, and layout work as one, a study in how design can make material tangible on the page.
