“ZIB Zack Mini”: Drawing Stories for Kids

ZIB Zack Mini is ORF’s daily news show for children aged 6 to 10. For the show, I created original drawing stories: explainer videos that combine traditional hand drawing with digital animation to bring each topic to life.

The Challenge: Turning daily news, often complex or serious, into short explainers that young children can understand, on a tight daily production schedule.
My Role: I led the drawing stories from concept to final animation, directing the creative approach, illustrating, animating, and managing production alongside the editorial team.
The Approach: A warm, hand-drawn visual style that gives the show a friendly, personal character and sets it apart from standard news graphics.
The Result: A recognizable visual signature for the show over several years, making the news approachable and memorable for its young audience.
